Each massage is different. Some might be overall deep, and some might be what we call ‘deep specific’. Your massage is customized for your wellness journey and your preferences. Each treatment starts with sitting down with your therapist to discuss what you would like out of your session. Deep tissue techniques typically involve elbows, forearms and broad pressures, but they can also be a mix of other techniques depending on your preferences. Keep in mid that ‘deep’ is a subjective experience. One person’s deep could be another person’s ‘gentle’. For this reason, our therapists will communicate with you during the massage therapy treatment to make sure you are comfortable.
It’s important to note that while Deep Tissue Massage offers numerous benefits, it may not be suitable for everyone. What to Expect During a Session
A typical Deep Tissue Massage session lasts about 60 to 90 minutes. You can expect to discuss your health history and treatment goals with the therapist. During the massage, the therapist will use techniques such as stripping, kneading, and trigger points to reach deeper muscle layers. It’s common to experience some discomfort, known as ‘good pain,’ which should be communicated to the therapist. After the session, you might feel some soreness for a day or two, which is a normal response of the body to deep tissue manipulation.
