Orthopedic Massage is a therapeutic treatment approach to chronic pain and injury utilizing soft tissue manipulation.
Our orthopedic Massage Therapy Specialized techniques to address pain, improve range of motion, and aid in the recovery of musculoskeletal injuries.
Orthopedic massage is targeted soft tissue work for injuries and pain conditions. This treatment addresses the entire kinetic chain and is designed to resolve chronic and acute pain conditions and range of motion limitations caused by injury, joint dysfunction, nerve conditions, and scar tissue. During an orthopedic treatment your therapist will work on specific areas of the body to release the fascia, tight muscles, pinched nerves and articular ligaments to ensure proper mechanics and joint function. Orthopedic massage is best deployed as a non-surgical intervention to injuries, as an adjunct to physical therapy, or as part of a post-surgerical recovery and rehabilitation routine.

THE THEORY
In a healthy body, the skeleton essentially floats within the soft tissues (muscle, connective tissue, fascia, etc). Movement from a balanced posture is free, fluid, and painless. When we are out of balance, our tissues may become overstretched or rigid. Movement then becomes restricted and requires structural compensation to perform our daily functions. In short, these imbalances force us to use our bodies in unnatural ways. Over time, these compensations and imbalances can manifest as chronic pain or repetitive strain injuries. The goal of Orthopedic Massage is to promote a healthier state by balancing the soft tissues of the body.
THE TREATMENT
Soft tissue manipulation by an Orthopedic Massage Therapist includes a combination of techniques such as Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, and Scar Tissue Release. Every individual and every situation is unique; sessions and treatment plans are customized to address your situation. Orthopedic conditions develop over time and often take time to correct. Therefore, treatment is applied incrementally to avoid further trauma to the body.
